Two operators guarding the remote Protéa base of VanArkel.

The Protéa private military company holds its origins in isolated systems, where crime and piracy are rampant. Patched up from former soldiers, disgruntled settlers and repented criminals, they act as a security force where others can't, as long as you can pay them. This band of ragtag operatives intervened in numerous conflicts over the past years, providing support to factions, securing third party facilities and population control. What they lack in financial and material resources and ethics, they make up in discretion, discipline and determination.

They arrived on Iiayama shortly during the rise of tension that made clear a conflict was imminent; hired by some panjandrum to defend his interests in the region, they're vowed to fight any opposing force. Now that Mikon Tyse is dead, combat is inevitable. Protéa's commanding officer on the planet, Laurh Tamrut, is known for her extreme methods and her connnections with some of the involved stakeholders, rising the question of the group's loyalty. It is not inconceivable that the local Protéa PMCs will be forced to take a side in the conflict as they defend their employer's behoof...

My first scene for the new forum RP game, called Dark Horizon: Scorpions in a Bottle where I play as a band of mercenaries being hired on the planet to protect what is left in the crossfire.
Drawing this faction helped me getting out of a quite annoying recurring lack of motivation I was trapped in for the last six months or so. I already have a bunch of figures I will use in
scenes for the game's events but I will also make deviantArt-only sheets for the infantry units and vehicles.
