My first fully cg rendered Spiderman fanart.I did this piece from conception to finish using Corel software and my mouse(no,it was not fun).I just felt like challenging myself.Most of my art is touched up or given special effects and enhancements using Corel,but it's rare that I do a full cg rendered piece such as this.I don't have a graphics tablet,as of yet,and it's very tedious doing a piece with a mouse instead of a pen(at least to me it is).Still I wanted to prove to myself I could still do it and so I did.
Anyway,some of you may not remember(or even know of) Carnage aka Cletus Cassidy since he was killed off in an issue of Spiderman,but I wanted to bring him back because I'm so tired of seeing Venom versus Spidey type pics posted around DA.So..what do you all think?

I have a tablet and I must say that it is waaaay easier than using a mouse. But talent still accounts for things. I can't get anywhere near what you've done even with the pen. *sigh* guess the drawings are better left to the gifted.

black symbiote swirls...dunno...but i liked the way he looked with the swirls.... still very good work the pose and positon on spider man is priceless

That is so incredibly amazing. I have a bunch of friends in the room, and they all went "wow" when they saw this. Love the anatomy -- Spidey looks really realistic, and Carnage is so... flowy? Great colors, so vibrant. And look at the background details! Truly awesome work, Darryl. ^^

Well,it's tedious because it's hard for me to make well rounded curved lines.I have to use my mouse which makes my lines choppy and not as expressive as I would like them,so I end up having to fight with the mouse to make decent curved lines or even the thickness of the lines,etc.I guess I feel that a graphics pen would feel more natural to me and speed up my production time tremendously,I suppose.

True,but then it wouldn't be a challenge,would it?And I wouldn't be able to say it was fully rendered in cg.Most of my stuff IS scanned in finished and I use cg to enhance color,add effects,filters,etc.Or in some cases scanned in as outline(as you've suggested)and then colored in cg,but I can't "brag" and say they are done totally using the computer,you know?
