I actually enjoy this much more than the symmetric one.
I like the divisions of color and texture. I like diagonal compositions. I like marinas a lot. This is usually where you will find me too, eyes to the ground, picking through the rocks in search of treasures/creatures, not that interested in the horizon.

Thanks Ben! So glad this one has found a fan. I have a couple more from this shoot still to scan - maybe I'll submit those eventually.
I too am a compulsive collector of beach artifacts. How rich are the pickins up your way?

Well I don't get to do it much at all. I'm inland about 300 miles in Spokane, WA. I only get to the Pacific Ocean maybe once a year, when travelling or headed salmon fishing.
The last time I walked the shore it was quite yucky as I was in Tacoma, down at the bottom of Puget Sound. The tide doen't exchange much of the water there and it's highly poluted. But before that I had a wonderful time finding creatures (little rock crabs, starfish, clams, oysters and others I could not identify) up in the San Juan islands where the water is fresh. I'm dying to head up to Squim, on the Olympic Penninsula, as I've read that there are a fair amount of shell fossils to be had there. I'm a rockhound too.

I was told that the stuff I am addicted to collecting is called 'sea agate', and my other fav treasure is sea glass. Once I found sea urchin skeleton (if that's even the right word).
