yes the exif is wrong. it's tokina manual lens, no metering, no auto focus. just a chunk of glass...

That is one of the best shots I've seen in quite a while.
Love the partial silhouette, the tones, lighting, textures, everything.
You captured the mood quite well and its definitely more than just a snapshot of a beautiful building.
I am guessing that EXIF data is wrong though ?

A very good shot - both from technical and art points of view. I know how difficult to make a really good photo in this place. The light is very complicated there...

yes. i think a fast lens is a must when shooting indoor places like this. i was using a 2.8 lens.

Yeah, you're absolutely right!
A friend of mine have done a shot of this place just a several days ago: [link] I'm sorry that the site is in Russian - I've just wanted to show the picture. It's a panorama shot, made with tree rows, and don't know how many columns.

lovely shot.
did you do much work with this in PS, or is the clarity much to do with the D70?

Love the shadows and lighting, very mythical sort of feel about it, and the two old ladies holding hands give it a nice warming charm to counter the cold of the stone work

Those shadows are stunning.. Very nice pic! Makes me forget that there's a photographer, and believe that it's only those two people in that room.. Two older persons walking side by side into the light. Beautiful.

Thank you for your words. as a photographer i try not to disturb the scene. i like taking pictures the way they are. when people are aware to the camera, the photo is not the same.
