As a Christian I agree with you: that tweet IS vile. Whether true or not (and I'm willing to admit I don't know for sure), I try to use my beliefs as encouragement to be compassionate. Using it as a bludgeon to kick people when they're down seems like a waste in every sense of the word. The tweet and your picture bring to mind a quote by Isaac Asimov.

Actually it is. In the sense that this happens rather than this is what all Christians are like. It wasn't until the secular world around the die hard believers switched from saying "gays are bad" to something along the lines of "that is the wrong interpretation" or the like.
