Description
Hi all, I'd like to introduce you to Idir the Fennec Fox. He measures approximately 12" long and 11" from the base of his paws to the tips of his rather enormous ears. He has been created out of white Tissavel faux fur and has been extensively airbrush shaded. I hope you like him.Related content

Wow, it's so life like! May I ask, how you do your claws and whiskers? What are they made of?

Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I sculpted the claws from polymer clay (with wire backs for secure attachment) and his whiskers are horsehair.

Oh those are both very neat techniques ! The horse hair is a great idea and works perfectly for whiskers

Yes, I was so pleased to have discovered horsehair for whiskers (Kindly donated by Mij the pony), it's just perfect for the job, if a little fiddly and time consuming to use, lol!

Your work is amazing! how on earth do you make your plushes look like they don't have any seam lines? D8

Thank you! It really helps to trim the fur from all the seams.

I'm gonna take a guess and say because fur probably hides the seam lines much better than minky or thinner materials? Just a guess!

I'm not sure, considering the fur is shaved down quite a bit on the legs, i'm going to assume the seam is hidden on the back of legs lol

wouldn't it have one on the front also then?

It doesn't have to, I'm unsure how this person made this plush, but I have made a horse hooves where it didn't have a seam in front.

Yes there are indeed seam lines down the front and back of the legs. In fact there are 31 different pieces to this pattern so there are a lot of seams. The longer fur helps does help to hide them of course but trimming the excess fur from the allowances really makes a difference too. Other than that all I do is carefully hand sew everything together and brush out the fur.
