First picture from my HTTYD fanart series!
I'm going to make a fan art picture for every soundtrack from the movie!
So I got inspired to draw this after watching this video [link] ..
I used a reference, mainly for Hiccup (because I SUCK at drawing anything human) and I drew Toothles and the background myself C:

I am super glad you changed the colors and background of this piece! I'm sick of seeing people just re-create the image entirely so this was very refreshing.

And for a critique, the only thing I would really go back and change is Hiccup's nose. Just bring the top of his nose where his eyes are in just a little bit and it'll look perfect c:

Really beautiful and cute! I like the colouring of the background; gives a nice atmosphere to the picture.

This is really nice! I like the lighting, and the light surrounding Hiccup's body, and Toothless's head/neck. The only thing that confuses me is Hiccup's hand. I know that his thumb is facing us, like it's supposed to (he doesn't have a backwards hand! xD) But it almost looks like his thumb might be on the opposite side of his hand. I think that if there was just a little more shadow, or even just a line, showing more thumb definition deeper into his hand, it would look a much better c:
Other than this, I love how virtually lineless this is, and the background is so amazing! The colors used in the background are just perfect. Both characters stand out from the background, and the background's colors really complement both Hiccup and Toothless because of the purple outline on both of them.
