First picture from my HTTYD fanart series!
I'm going to make a fan art picture for every soundtrack from the movie!
So I got inspired to draw this after watching this video [link] ..
I used a reference, mainly for Hiccup (because I SUCK at drawing anything human) and I drew Toothles and the background myself C:

I LOVE this painting! You captured Toothless perfectly! But I don't think Hiccup looked that melancholy, more frightened. It's GREAT though!

First things first, WOW! I have to say this is one heck of a neat picture! 
I can't even begin to count all the things that work brilliantly in this image. The lighting is gorgeous, the shading; damn near spot in, and the posing is very professional looking.
Although it is kind of a copy of the scene from the actual movie, it has a unique flare to is that makes if to a very individual level. 
The background is very well done, and blends in nicely to the whole visual style of the piece.
To be completely honest, I can't find much of anything to critique
The color blue is often a 'cold' color, giving a sense of frigidity or even sadness, but here, the hue used really presents a hint of unease but comfort when combined with the character's posing. As I said, although it's a mash-up of a scene from the movie, it's individual enough to not be seen as a complete copy, which I had seen a lot before. This is one of the more 'touching' scenes in the movie *no pun intended* but here you presented it in such a way that it almost has more of an impact than the original scene; if that's even possible LOL.
Overall a bloody brilliant job

This is even more beautiful than the last time I saw it! The overall blue is just a gorgeous color, and it's the lighting that really makes this picture for me. The subtle outlighting of the characters with glow, as well as the out of focus details of the background just frame the moment and make it all the more beautiful.
