I know this has been done already many times, this is just my take on it. I like to think that every moment Vader is alone, far away from the emperor, he keeps on struggling and thinking about his huge loss..and that he unleashed all of his sorrow as a centuplicated violence against the rest of the galaxy..until a certain Luke appeared at least..all characters belong to Lucasfilm/Disney

Thank you. I did this back in January, I had seen the whole saga for the first time in November last year and I had to get this out of my head and my heart. Anakin and Padme's tragic story has got me forever shaken and I don't think I will ever recover. I am happy you liked this.

In his first few years in that suit, Vader would probably spend a lot of time in the meditation chamber crying over Padme; it would take a few years for him to really get over her death. Β He blames himself for her death (just like he blamed himself for his mother's death) and wouldn't push her out of his mind until about a decade after his reconstruction. Β It wouldn't be until he finds out that his son is still alive that he starts to find out the truth. Β
BTW I saw those panels in that Darth Vader comic; I got chills reading those pages. Β

First of all, thank you. You, know i bought the Vader comic book released in January, the one that includes all the 2015 books, and there were hints of this in many moments (but especially in the last two numbers, when Aphra asks him if he's ever been to Geonosis, and there's this flashback of him remembering his kiss with Padme before entering the arena, or the last wonderful pages where Boba Fett reveals to Vader the name of Skywalker, and he thinks back of all the good (and bad) times with her, that literally tore my heart apart. I can't help but think that Vader lived this perpetual dychotomy within himself, a part that wanted to shut his past out of him completely and give in to all the hatred and violence, and another one, more introspective, that would always resurface, reminding him of what he could have been. i am 100% positive about this.

It's like Vader's subconscious is talking to him; I've never seen it done this way before. The Emperor could never fully drive Anakin out completely. Like Luke said, there was still good in him, even if he didn't believe it himself. It makes sense that the part of him that was Anakin would keep resurfacing, especially in the beginning. He must be in so much pain knowing that his grandson is making the same mistakes he did and being used like he was. Kylo wants to like the part of Anakin hates and doesn't want to be remembered by.

Well that is partly true, Anakin kind of dies when he turns into Vader only to resurface at the very end, when he saves his son. But I am haunted by the final scenes of Revenge of the Sith, when the first words we hear from Darth Vader in the suit are: where is Padme? Is she safe? Is she alright?
I mean yes Anakin died but not completely. I am sure a part of him always thought back to her and their happy days. And we all know how he gave vent to his frustration for not having her with him anymore..death, distruction, hate

And it's nice you mentioned dr.jackill and mr.hide, because they truly are so different as characters, their personality dichotomy is pretty strong: where Anakin is reckless and many times more one of a talk-before-you-think kind, Vader is much more logical and never wastes words in vain...there are some seeds of future Vader in Anakin ( he does not disdain dictatorship, alas), but he truly changes a lot once he is the man behind the mask. This character will never cease to amaze me

Thank you. Well if you think what his first questions are, as Vader in the suit, they are all about Padme. He turned into Vader for love in the end, excessive love maybe, and I am pretty sure those visions about Padme dying by childbirth were somehow implanted by Palpatine, how is it that in Revenge of The Sith Palpatine is the only one who knows about his secret marriage with Padme? He may have read his thoughts of course, but I am convinced those visions are somehow Palpatine's work. Thus, he was sure Anakin, deprived of everyone he loved, would have been his most powerful and devastating apprentice...
