The forest was normally a place where one could find shelter from the storms, and for the most part that was still true.

Yet even here the rain pelted through the trees in a merciless maelstrom which soon saturated her kimono at long last. Not that falling into the water didn't make it worse either every time her foot landed on a soggy slippy surface with little to nothing to grab on.

The forest was a mixture of various species, and the older the bigger,widder and higher on their own plots of land they were. While small saplings of 5-7ft were below the surface, other which rose high easily survived. there were maples, leaves long gone and washed away, bamboo thickets which looked like rows upon rows of poled sticking out the water, and willows wraping aroudn eachother bent over in pitiful postures like they were weeping as their namesake said. Seemed fitting too.

With every step Neui could tell her exploration was gradually ascending higher as the waters rose.

Just as worry began to claw at her, a displaced flicker of what seemed like sunlight in the gloom beyond the thickening trees caught he moon rabbits attention...

It seemed nothing was safe anymore, and as he hid away under the flimsy protection of the Willow tree, Ayre dreaded the possibility of his other friends dying too. Ilquinis – even Mei. They were both at risk, and in very real danger for the first time in the young Gods life. Ayre knew he would do anything he could to stop that from happening of course, even at the risk of his own life, but he had his own country to protect too… though it seemed he was doing an awful job at that. So he sat there. Hidden away. And so desperately trying to calm himself down. It was the least he could do, right? It seemed he was useless at anything else, especially protecting others. But it seemed nothing he tried helped, and the weather raged around him as it had done for the past few days....

As she looked up at the weeping bird she at first thought to be a Pegasus perhaps, Neui was instead shocked to see the anguished apparition that was her friend.

'Ayre?...'
