My Tribute to my mother. Happy Mothers Day!!!For the background I used an sortment of stuff, butterfly images, images of flowers using a system of overlaying and creating my brushes out of them. Like the lavender flower! ^-^
And a LOT of blending.
Then a dab of a few flower brushes created by ~ca-pris.
I recomend you see her site^_-

This is AMAZING
it's incredible to see how much you've improved over time. But honestly - the way you mixed medias in this background is amazing. It really adds a unique flare to the lovely drawn portrait.
I'm sure she loves it. I love it. great job!

Simply incredible, I love how the foreground and background blend. The background standalone is rich and varied. Those textures are great.
Keep it up.

Awesome, but for some reason, the woman seems sad to me.

Aha you noticed! I'll explain why; It's more of a neutral expression I was going for. Cause being the vessel of creation( a mother) is a two way street. It's a beautiful thing, but also burdensom and painful.
It takes lot's of courage in adversity, there're fears and insecurities in each mothers life. The child she's holding represents the future, dreams coming true, but also new challenges and trails she must face to see this babe through life safely.
I'm very glad you caught that. ^_- *gives cookie*

Oh wow, it is beautiful. -eyes are dazzled- I really like how you made the clothing and hair transparent so you can see the background. And those butterflies rock my socks off! And the movement of everything. Beautiful!
