Name - Jaegrym comes from a combination of the German word Jaeger, which means hunter I believe, and Wyrm, which are a type of dragons in folklore. The idea behind it is to put an emphasis on how volatile and weaponized this species is. It also didn't sound as childish to me as some previous ideas did.

Nuclear Concepts & Color - The idea behind the species' core comes from the concept of colors that form when elements are burned. Different chemical elements display different, rather vibrant colors when lit aflame. The addition of Jaegrym putting off radiation was simply a way to pull purpose into the species existence, and was a fun little play with one of my favorite science concepts. IT IS NOT AT ALL BASED ON REAL RADIOACTIVITY OR NUCLEAR POWER (though lead is used to help protect against radiation).

Lifespan - A Jaegrym's lifespan is determined by the exertion put upon their cores. Typically, they will live for about a hundred years, though this can be drastically reduced with heavy expenditure of energy or improper venting.

Behavior - Though humanoid in nature, Jaegrym are much more instinctual. They rely more heavily on base needs than humans do and tend to be much more aggressive as a result. As such, Jaegrym are often bred and conditioned to fight for human amusement in gladiatorial escapades (that is if they're not being used as power sources).

Are They Closed? Open? Semi? - I have decided that Jaegrym are going to be a Closed Species.
I don't currently have an answer to this. Like mentioned above, this species is still a work in progress and I haven't decided what I want to do with the concept officially. However, I am open to any ideas or suggestions so please feel free to share!
