Sphinx's are traditionally female. Androsphinx's however are male. So they do exist in mythology.

What do you mean overdone? Please be more specific. The paws are normal. He is not a part dog but part lion. Dogs have small paws but lions have massive ones since they use it to grab prey. Indeed, the one of his forepaw looks retarded. Plus, he is also male so I made the lion body rather large. And yes, the ribs on his lion body looks concaved.

I would say that you've drawn your ribcage too large and too low, and that the lump you've drawn on the armpit shouldn't be there. Avoid concave lines like the one you've almost got on the back there, as those kinds of lines never exist on the human form. Other than that, pretty bitchin'.

The muscles you have a ten pack technically going on, usually with the hybrid mythical beings they include the belly button portion of the torso. However! Being that there is also another mammalian body it could be argued that the abs are physically accurate being that the lower half is in the lower half of the cat part. The anatomy on the cat part is amazing btw. Other than the abs thing which is very debatable the muscles are great!

I would critique the muscles, but I have absolutely no knowledge on that whatsoever, so I'd rather not. BUT I think the shading is a little off - I can't seem to define the light source, because in some places it's shaded a little too much.
But ya know, everything else looks dandy as usual.
