Oh, ok, thanks, I use Derwint's, but my colouration never seems up to stratch...-_- or maybe I just suck.

it takes time and practise... try blending two or three tones of colour from dark to light
it's what i do, started with black, colour boldly first then lighten up which to grey same again then white to add to final touches
you need a soft type of pencil to do this though so cheep ones won't do, i recommend crayola
