Description
Nothing much. I had these three marker sketches that I did of my mascot baby Castell that I decided to scan in and play around with in Sai. As you peeps know, I’m constantly trying to further develop and improve myself artistically. That being said, I decided to use my Castell squiggles as part of a little art experiment to develop two of my four styles: Realiroo and 4Real (yes, I named my styles cause I’m that creative and awesome).

From conducting this small experiment, I’ve concluded that I’ve found my look and style for my Realiroo style which I’ve very much satisfied with. However regarding my 4Real style, I’m undecided. I mean the drawing came out nicely. I attempted to go back to my soft shading technique. Lately I’ve been abusing my soft cell-shaded style for my other three styles so I figured why not try something different for my 4Real and go mostly soft shade. While it looks lovely and while I’m pleased with the results, especially with the hair---I still don’t know. I don’t know.

What do you guys think? Any form of review or critique would be greatly appreciated please (so long as it’s no harsh) 8) .

Hello hon! Sorry for the late response to this; I read your message earlier and I'd admittedly spent some time mulling over what to say since I think all three of your styles are quite lovely and well on their way to being solid~

but since you asked, I came up with a few suggestions and tips, perhaps? c: of course they don't have to be considered- perhaps something I say will inspire another idea or method!

The soft shading looks wonderful on the 4Real style and I think it's definitely something that should be continued~

And the thinner lines are definitely a good contributor~ Though, perhaps, the lines may be a bit too dark-? The lines inside her face, I mean; perhaps softening the lines a little while make the picture seem that much more softer and more along the lines of semi-real? Enough to soften the lineart but not enough so that there isn't no definition of her features? u v u Similarly to how you can't quite see the lineart within the hair but can still make out the details-? I'm sure you can work some wonderful magic with her facial features like how you do with hair. c: Or using shading as a sort of stand-in lineart like some artists do-?

Ahh it's all a very difficult thing to explain, but I know that with enough experimenting and critiques and practice practice practice you'll definitely find a solid 4Real style that you'll like! > w < You're already almost there!
