It all depends when it comes to commercial to be honest. Things start to get a bit complicated. If you could elaborate by what you mean and what the design would be used for I can help you more.
But if you were to ask me if a company would be interested in a design, then there would be some sort of contract for sure and the price would be very different.

Just asking because I see you have had many great adoptable designs and I would probably be interested in adopting something from you in the future. I'm making a game and need characters for it; I'm not saying the game is going to be this popular phenomenon, but just in case that small chance happens, I wanted to be prepared by having characters to which I could have the commercial rights to.
