Leave the Tron Baby Alone.A single character shot and 3 paragraphs of vague story is hardly grounds to shit on this new franchise as much as I've seen. Seeing things like "Mega Man's dead", "MY EYES" and varying degrees of "NOOOO" get's tiring when there's been literally nothing to rip on yet.
Could the show be atrocious? Yes. Do we know that yet? No.
So until the day comes where the series tanks due to whatever reasons I will give this new child the benefit of the doubt, hold him to my bosom, and defend him from these shmucks who insist on judging books by their covers because it's not like their precious nostalgia based Classic Rockman. Only time will tell if this will be a good series or not- people are jumping ship far too early.
Fans carry on about how Capcom won't do anything new with Megaman, how they have so much potential to make money with new content and when finally something new and different comes out this happens. So they're stuck re-releasing collectors edition packs or anniversary promos of the same old stuff because fans lose their minds whenever something new shows up on the market that doesn't fit their bill; whether it be because it's not the original Rockman, or that they changed his name, even getting shallow and saying it's because it's of western release instead of Japanese.
It's no Legends 3 or X9 but dammit it's something new and I'm gonna at least give it a chance.

Too true. It could very well be on par with the poor quality/writing of the PPG reboot or worse. But it's just too soon to be getting this angry over a show that has only a few lines of summary and one concept pic.

Yep that's the main point. What if the plot's not that great or is even redoundant at the beginning but the scenario and plotwists makes it finally interresting? There are many possibilities, even the bad ones, aargh. But this will get checked in due time.

I know! It takes time to get ready, and of course, beng a fanbase, they're going to hate everything. But even now, Capcom is trying again, but the fanbase still doesn't know what's right for them...

The fanbase seems hard to convince no matter what. If they could just give this show any chance, at least one or two more fresh news. To give up on a project there must be something really unforgivable right at the start. But a robot boy going to school has nothing THAT blameworthy, especially if most of the themes are respected.

I'm feeling pretty messed up about it but I'm trying to hold out until I see more of it.
I think people just wanted a show about megaman. Like Rock megaman. Actual megaman. But I at the least hope it has the old robot masters in it. That would make me pretty happy.
I have not heard anything about that yet.
Anyways. The design looks pretty okay to me. They stuck to the basics.

I get why people are up in arms about this spinoff. Because, like you said, people were sort of expecting a Classic Rockman that followed its original plot.
I like that they're trying something new but there's going to be a chance that it may tank completely- For me, it's just too soon to tell and people should be waiting it out a bit to see the actual nature and quality of the show before they start ripping on it, yanno?

I will admit that while the design sort of disappointed me, the one thing that really sort of got me is that they changed his name to Aki. I have very high expectations of this show and Capcom better not screw it up. It's new, yes, but if they screw this up I'm not going to forgive them much on it. That said, I'd also like to mention that I AM looking forward to this show. I love Megaman, and I'm glad they're actually doing something with him now. I just have high expectations on how they write this.

Not being fond of the style is alright. People have their tastes. But people are using that as an excuse to say terrible things about this series and nothing's come out from it yet. They're just reaching for things to hate about it with so little info.
The fact you're still happy it's here and are going to give it a chance proves you're better than that.

Oh definitely. But as a writer, I just want to make sure the show can be as awesome as it can be. I would love to see the issues between Robots and humans brought up and how they affect each others welfare. I feel it's a given, considering the scenario.

It would be nice to see these things touched upon but you mustn't shut it down if it doesn't meet the standards you've set for it. Especially when they say this show will be aimed at a younger audience so stories my be simpler and less political.

Indeed. If anything, I hope it's written in a similar fashion to Steven Universe. If not, then oh well. I may have been mad before (as my tweets suggested; I tend to get mad over shit I'm v passionate about, but I cool down rather quickly), But after analyzing what we already know, it's way too soon to make a conclusion; just like Pokemon Sun and Moon.

I think his design is okay but the way the face is drawn put me off because it looks really generic. I'm hoping for fun robot master designs to make up for it and if the story telling is good I can overlook an art style I don't care for.
Everyone is being really negative about it and I can kind of understand but I want it to be good. Even if it's not exactly what I want I'd still rather see something done with the franchise. Also, kids experiencing Mega Man for the first time deserve to enjoy it without old bitter fans shitting all over the new cartoon lol. I can remember a time when I could get Mega Man toys at the local toy store and there were commercials on tv and imagining a new generation of fans getting to experience that is exciting

I love his new design! It's just... They have Mega Mini, what about Rush? If they have Mini, I hope they at least have Rush in there.. I swear I'll cry if my little Rush isn't in there.

I'll be honest: my only beef with the concept art is that it looks like something you'd see in a flash animation, and I HATE flash. Not a fan of the colored outlines either. But seriously, I'm with you on this. We can't judge the show as a whole when we know nothing about it. Sure, maybe the style isn't what people expected, but the story could still kick ass. We just have to wait and see.

Y'see that's decent criticism though. And you recognize that the series still might be alright even with the alternate art style. Many surprisingly don't think the same way and believe "Anything not an exact replica of Rockman Classic" = "Garbage"

Thanks! And yeah, it's not like every series of Megaman has a slightly different style and take on them. Yup, totally not. I didn't like Megaman Zero's style at first either, but I grew to love it and it's story. I don't blame people for not liking it because of their nostalgia, because everyone likes what they are familiar with, but they can't go claiming that it's garbage just yet. I'm sure many of these people complaining now will change their mind (if the story of the show is good, at least).
