A once quiet and shy hen who prefered to stay indoors, Halah has come into her own as a friendly, although sometimes strange, hen. Still one who prefers to sit by and listen, she has come to enjoy conversation far more that she has begun to understand her abilities more and more. Halah still cringes at a harsh glance, but no longer flees to cower in the shadows, chosing instead to face her fears and step forward with feathers fluffed and ready to do what she needs to protect those she cares for, now more than ever.
History:
Born the first daughter of Hashim and Abra, chaos and trouble were quick to follow the chick’s first breaths. With a twisted, bald frame, the tiercel rejected the chick at first glance, regarding her as a stain on the otherwise pristine clutch of children within his harem. However she did not go unloved, Halah’s mother kept the small hatchling close to her heart despite her husband’s disapproval and want to sell the often sickly and wailing chick. Halah grew slowly, often hiding beneath her mother’s wing or the confines of her room to escape the harassment of her siblings and seething glare of her extremist father. Her distress, and her harassment, only increased as severe, seemingly incurable headaches began around the age of three. Nothing but the quiet of the night or utter seclusion seemed to help with her agony.
On the rare occasions the young hen ventured out, making friends was difficult, if not impossible, due to Halah’s uncanny knack for picking out lies and ability to somehow read exactly what was going on in the minds of others. Many friends who at first admired her truthful nature and disturbingly accurate sense of others, soon turned away when the lens was placed on themselves for one reason or another.
This same un-easing ability to stare into the very core of other anomali ended up being her greatest weakness, as well as her greatest strength. The few times she would waddle behind her mother at her market stall, it was found that she had a skill for picking out exactly what it was a customer wanted, even if they themselves didn’t quite know, or were unable to describe it. Trying to reward her daughter for her efforts of sociability, and her assistance with customers, Abra has been slowly giving Halah small amounts of coin. With this, the hen worked her hardest, eventually being able to afford a small shop that she sold various trinkets until specializing in fragrances, moving up to a larger shop within the markets she has named Taezia Fragrance, using it as her home and base of operations in combination with now numerous tracts of land dedicated to the care and keeping of various flora and fauna required to self sustain her profession, including but not limited to; small orchards, greenhouses, and beekeeping hutches.
Thanks to her now more separated and severely less toxic living situation, Halah has begun to come into her own, becoming more and more confidant and social. Its thanks to the new acquaintances she has made as of recent the hen has learned that her headaches and penchant for picking minds is... actually magic. She's yet to fully discover the depths of this ability, but now it has her wondering what else about herself she doesn't know.. Her confusion at her own self only deepened when an altercation with her father turned to a bloody affair, the teircel finally lashing out. Only instead of shrinking away like he expected, Halah met him with equal ferocity, if not more so. After a brief conversation with a like-minded deity, Halah found herself with a new look, new magic, and many new questions.. the potential answers for some sending the hen fleeing into the desert at the lead of a strange violet... trake?
Now she is trying to figure out just what the secrets and consequences of the deal she made are.. and as her mind drifts, she already wonders if it was all worth it.
