I can tell. Bet it's tough to squeeze in extra detail once you start to get below that familiar size.
Though it would be cool to print out a breezie model this small: www.micromanufacturing.com/sitβ¦
Not as huggable though. Also kind of breakable...

I'm using the 3D printer we have at work (Makerbot replicator 2x) to make assays for an NIH project and it doesn't get even in the same ballpark as the printer that printed out that pinkie pie in terms of resolution. That's one impressive printer.Β

If it's like this stuff, it's probably organza.
www.efavormart.com/ProductImagβ¦
If it is, I did not know you could melt it. Does it retain it's transparency? I could try that on my chrysalis. I bet her wings would be pretty stiff too.

Littlestplushoppe In reply to GTUwolf [2014-03-04 23:37:13 +0000 UTC]
I actually got it for making bee keeping head protection thingies..not quite scratchy like organza more polyester feeling..it stayed transparent but i could also sew it with no problem..but quite floppy...i do have some glorious 'mermaid skin' fabric that would be awesome for chrysalis wings..its almost holographic..not sure what the real name of it is tho

Sure, it was called netting and was in the home decor section ofJoanne's Β if that helps..like the fabric you would use for those mesh laundry bags
