Description
Darkness, everywhere. Naught was heard but the sound of water, dripping, dripping onto puddles in the cavern floor. Dripping, and the sound of Harath. Dobes dragging across the floor, heavy breathing, potion containers gently reverberating together with his movement."Guys?" the wizard whispered, "guys, are you there?"
"Ssh" came a deep, soft sound from just in front of him. Halath just managed to contain a yelp as the soft, giant hand of Kharrukk gently grasped his shoulder. "We're almost by his lair, don't give us away now."
Calmed, for a second, by the Warrior's hand guiding his path, Halath breathed a sigh of relief. Then he heard something else. A soft, gentle slithering, just behind him.
"Guys-"
"Shut up", came the harsher tone of the Tiefling Rogue up front.
"But guys-"
"Quiet"
Halath heaved a quiet sigh as he dug through his pockets. They couldn't be that close, and while he couldn't see a thing in the darkness, he was sure something was stalking them in the darkness. Finally he felt his fingers touch upon a tiny ball of soft moss, and he took out a pinch of it. It glowed gently in his hand as he recited the magic words he learned from his mentor. the glow transferred onto the top of his wand, spreading gently into the crevices of the cavern.
"Guys", he said, louder now, as he stared into an eye the size of his head, right in front of him, "I think we're in trouble"
As they finally looked up at the ball of bulging eyes, attached to a bulbous body by means of slimy, undulating tentacles, the party finally saw his concerns.
