Coil's mask doesn't have lenses, just fabric thin enough to see through.
The dark and gloomy palette, combined with the mug, make up for it. I wonder where he got the mug...was it a custom job, and if so wouldn't the mug-maker be suspicious? Or does Brockton Bay have enough of a reputation that they sell #1 Villain mugs along with all sorts of other kitsch?

Holy, your rendidtion of Coil is awesome. For some reason I thought his costume didn't include any facial features (or at least none that are so obviously evil), but those eyes clearly tell you he's one of those Guys To Run Away From Really Fast.
I also like the almost-monochrome look as it adds to the sinister atmosphere that's surrounding the guy.
It's great to see such awesome fanart for such an awesome and enjoyable series!
