A gift that is not truly free

Admin's Choice:

A Fresh StartThe bees were getting restless. They had been waiting for over an hour for the humans to arrive, and they began eyeing the pretty yellow meadow flowers. "Couldn't we ..." began Fluzz, "... I mean it seems stupid to sit around doing nothing ... couldn't we collect some nectar while we wait?" Guzz had been pacing but stopped to consider. After a moment she shook her antennae from side to side. "No no no ... please don't. Then you'll want to return to the hive and that's when they'll come." "Why can't they meet us  at  the hive? They could be welcomed by the queen." "They don't care about the queen. Anyway, the hive makes them nervous, I thin... The Gift of MortalityThe Gift of Mortality The brittle skeleton lies buried Among a tower of towering rubble. Its hollowed eyes Drowned behind a taut, furrowed brow. That forever grin it holds Hints to whatever personality still seeps Within the bones.Years ago, the body leaned against The soft shoulder of a lover. The hill’s crest swallowed by moon, The two might have stayed an eternity. Their dreams dotted in the sky, Hopes sprouting from the ground, Their eyes shut in confidence Within their embrace. They may have married miraculously. A secret wedding with a billowing Dress and baggy borrowed suit. Their kiss and few funds Lasted long enough for a baby And...

Prose

Yaq Tricks Her MateYaq Tricks Her Mate: A Desert Ghoul Folk-tale as Recorded from Oral Form by T. P. Hade of the Nonhuman Cultural Illumination ProjectIn this lifetime Yaq was born female. She lived in the land where desert meets grass. It was a bountiful place, with good territories and mates to choose from, but Yaq did not appreciate them. For years she turned her nose up at many clever males until she found what she was searching for. This young male was hunting at the edge of his parent’s territory. He was gathering supplies so that he could leave them and begin his Matehood Journey. His fangs were handsome and his body well muscled, but what caught Yaq’s... Behind the BarsAll I can see now are bits and pieces of the world that manage to peek through the bars of my prison. It's always the same bits and pieces, though. I see a computer desk, a glowing screen that sometimes shows me my reflection if I look hard enough. I can see shelves, but I cannot see what is on them.I forgot what the real world looked like. I never see the sun anymore. All I have now is a harsh light that only comes on when the human walks into the room. She only comes in the room anymore when she sits at that desk and when she wants to feed me.When I was first brought inside, I was taken care of real good. I was hurt, but I don't remember...

Hi, I am new to this group.

So, to submit to the writing prompt, we more or less mention "For the Live-Love-Write Writing Prompt" ?   in the "comments"  If so, how do i get the link to "properly" show up   Can someone show me?  put a space in the symbols needed, and I will do it without the spaces for the link.

Thanks

Hello,

This just means that in your entry's description box, we would like for you to mention that it is for the LLW writing prompt. This does not mean comment on this journal with a link to your entry. Please let us know if you need further assistance, and welcome to LLW!

No, that is not what I meant.

What I meant was to do an entry

Do I post it in the comment section on the writing prompt?

Like click the writing prompt, in the comment section post and put "for the LLW writing prompt.

No, do not post your entry in a comment on the writing prompt. To enter the prompt, you must first create a deviation. To do that, use the green Submit button at the top of the page. Please refer to the "How to Create a Deviation and Submit to LLW" section of our submission guidelines for full instructions on how to do this. You can find this by clicking here:

Submission Guidelines Live-Love-Write Submission Guidelines
Submissions
Global submission limit of three deviations per week to the gallery (regardless of folder). You may submit three deviations of any type to any folder each week. Program-exclusive folders, such as Writing Prompt and Dodecathlon, are exempt: submissions to these folders does not count towards your global submission limit.
Help keep our galleries organized for readers! Please submit to the correct folder. For example, the Tutorials folder is for tutorials only.
We accept the following types of deviations:
         > text deviations
         > pdf deviations
         > manga and comics
         > visual literature: prose and poetry arranged in a design or with artwork to convey the story
         > links to published work outside of dA: submit to Pr

The instructions will walk you through how to submit your work to deviantART, then submit that to LLW's Writing Prompt folder. That is how you will submit your entry to the prompt, and to make sure we know it is for the prompt and not submitted to the folder on accident (which happens often), we ask that you specify as such in the artist's comments section of your deviation. The instructions will show you where to do that.

Please let us know if you need further assistance!
