I shouldn't be typing the description for this while watching movies at the same time

So at some point Sonic finally got the strength to tell one of his friends(besides Vanilla who he talks to sometime) he has issues(making himself act how he does to keep up the appearance of a hero, trauma, resurfacing trauma), he decides to tell Knuckles as he has a feeling(from a lost memory) he can trust him with this. Something leads to Rouge finding out instead & leads to Sonic telling her when he needs help/is going to break down again.

This is after Sonic found out he's pregnant with Venice, he's in shock because as much as he wants a family he's scared, might not be ready & Mephiles is still missing. Mephiles being missing for a bit now was what lead to him crashing some as he can't find him anywhere, Mephiles is the dad & he'd never leave Sonic for long so that means something is wrong.

Rouge is worried about Sonic & realizes she might need to get Sonic a lot of help with this
