Description
The picture on the view screen vanished, replaced by static. It crackled and hissed for a couple of seconds before a new picture appeared. A white male bat stood there, flanked on either side by two echidnas.
"Greetings citizens of Mobius." He said. "Allow me to introduce myself and my associates."
He gestured to the echidna on his left. She stood at Parade Rest. Her left eye, a bionic, glowed slightly red.
"This is Captain Kiara-Ne of the 14th Assault Platoon."
The bat then gestured to the other echidna. She was younger. Her long black hair flowed behind her, and a mischievous grin crossed her face.
"This is Zippa Dimitri." He said smiling at the camera. "And of course I am Grandmaster Zac of the Dark Egg Legion!"
Kiara-Ne coughed quietly and Zac glanced at her.
"Fine." He said. "Grandmaster of the New Megalopolis Demi-Legion."
He looked at the camera intently.
"I come before you today to offer you a choice: Join the great and powerful Eggman Empire or face the consequences. And to show you just what power you will be up against should you chose the latter, I have a small demonstration prepared for you."
Grandmaster Zac turned to Zippa.
"If you could." He said to her.
Zippa stepped forward, grinning at the camera. She held arms by her side, palms facing forward. Small flames sparked into life at her fingertips. They slowly grew until the fire seemed to consume her whole arms. Zippa turned and reached back. She suddenly threw her arms forward, the flames dancing from her hands, and flying across the studio to explode against a wall. As the smoke and dust cleared, it was noticeable that the wall had disappeared, reduced to rubble. Zippa returned to Zac's side and he clapped her performance.
"Very nicely done." He told her before turning to Kiara-Ne. "And now it's your turn my dear."
A brief look of annoyance flashed across Kiara-Ne's face as she stepped forward and drew her gun. At a signal, a bound prisoner was brought into the studio, and an apple placed upon his head. Kiara-Ne took up a firing stance. Her finger slowly tightened on the trigger, and the gun fired. A crimson laser bolt struck the prisoner right between the eyes. He pitched forward, and the apple rolled away, coming to a stop against Kiara-Ne's foot. She bent down and picked it up before once more taking her place next to Grandmaster Zac. He looked at her and frowned.
"You missed the apple." He said.
Kiara-Ne simply shrugged.
"Who said I was aiming for it?" She replied and took a bite from the fruit.
A smile crept across Zac's face, and he turned back towards the camera.
"Well." He said. "As you can see, she's not a woman to be trifled with. So citizens of Mobius. Join us, or die."
The picture faded, and was once more replaced by static...
