Kyo Kiryu quickly ran his fingers through his hair, adjusting his fringe as he looked in the mirror. Satisfied that everything was in place, the hedgehog picked up his gym bag and started towards the exit. He had just finished a good workout session, and was now looking forward to popping into the gym canteen to grab some lunch. As he walked out of the change rooms, Kyo was suddenly bowled over by two individuals rushing past. Flashes of pink and grey filled his vision, and surprised gasps echoed in his ears.
"What the..?"
Slowly the hedgehog sat up, blinking. He caught eyes with a girl, the look of shock on her face giving way to one of laughter.
"Kyo?" the girl said. "Oh man, I thought you were one of the staff for a moment there."
Kyo shook his head, gathering his thoughts. It took a moment before realizing the pair were his friends, Katara and Takeda.
"Did someone get the number of that truck?" Takeda said groggily.
Kyo helped his friends up, raising an eyebrow at them.
"OK, what are you two up to?" he inquired.
The pair shared a glance, Takeda looking especially sheepish.
"Oh, you know," the grey hedgehog replied. "The usual."
"Meaning," Katara added, "that Takeda just ruined one punching bag too many."
She glanced about.
"We thought we'd better make out get-away before management showed up to complain."
Kyo chuckled.
"Well I was just on my way out to get some lunch," he told them. "If you two 'troublemakers' are sure you're done for the day, you're both welcome to join me."
Katara and Takeda nodded.
"Sure," Takeda replied.
"Give us ten minutes to wash up and change," Katara added.
Quickly the pair headed off, leaving Kyo to go grab a table for them in the canteen. The brown hedgehog smiled to himself. Katara and Takeda could both be hyperactive and destructive when it came to training, but Kyo had to admit, the gym would be a much more boring place without them...
