Yes and no. it came about from an RP in which someone mentioned a game called Slender. I looked into what the Slenderman was, and kind of came up with a couple of ideas...

I never thought of it as being like The Question (And I've never heard of Convict for Newgrounds Rumble...), but I can see what you mean.
I used the basic description of The Slenderman as: Tall, thin, long disproportionate arms/legs, no face/featureless face, fancy black suit and tie, and tentacles from the back.

Well the look being the only thing to do with Slenderman, basically the faceless face that is The Question and for Convinct, well the suit and demonic influence You do then huh?
Basically the real nightmarish version of Jack Skellington and the humans version of a Tails Doll, pfft Heh heh.

just finding out about this character here, very interesting, kinda reminds me of some of the real life cryptids and urban legends that circulate around, also reminds me about some of the strange occurrences that i both heard and witnessed first-hand overseas...

I'm just finding out about it too.
This was inspired by a RP that happened with a friend in which she mention a new game called Slender [link] This made me check out the Slenderman myth/legend, and i couldn't get it out of my mind. I even wrote a short story loosely based on it too [link]

Well, i was gonna maybe post a short story detailing some of them, but i'll post a few here. I deployed to Marjeh, Helmand both times and heard some of the same stories from various units as well as fellow marines, one that sticks out the most was the "Magooba"
just one of the weird occurances, the other big one i think would have to be what they called the "chupacabra", not anything like the other urban legend, it was just what we generally called it. this one was never seen physically but seemed to just kinda show up real late at night and cause strange happenings on post, scrambling radios, and the like, it was best for hitting against the side of the HESCO barriers and making a loud thud, definitely weird because whatever it was would have had to leap over two lines of barbed wire and no one ever claimed to have seen it, even with NVG's and thermal optics. anyway, this was incredibly unnerving to most people as it was dead silent on post and suddenly a loud thud would ring out of nowhere. i do remember dealing with this one personally, i had gone down from post to grab a bite to eat, i usually left my rifle in the post and just carried my pistol when i walked off at night, to get up to our posts there was a large wooden ladder that you had to climb up, as i climbed on i suddenly felt this eerie feeling in my spine like something was behind me, i sped up the ladder as fast as i could without looking back, at the top i leapt up onto the post and drew my pistol, obviously there was nothing at the bottom of the ladder. my buddy on post turned when he heard me draw my sidearm and asked what was up, as soon as that happened, the loud thud rang out right in front of our post, scaring the bajeezus out of both of us. we didn't sleep well at all that night. there were a few other occasions that i might write up at some point, i just thought it was interesting the amount of paranormal activity that took place over there.
