Comments must be constructive and relevant to the artist:
Constructive: Useful comments to help artists improve! Don't just focus on the positive or negative, strengths or w

I'm going to begin by saying I find this piece a little puzzling, I'm not much into OCs and stuff but I can tell there's a lot of thought put into this, and it's very creative and original in many ways, however I noticed one or two things I think are a little off:

Lineart: Averange

  • Right off the bat I want to say it was a good move to shift the color of the lineart depending on the setting, be it to match the color of the filling or depending on the lightning, good job!
  • However I noticed the color of some lines do not match the rest of the adyacent colors, the perfect example would be the small flames on the candles, you have this black outline that literally cuts away the glowing effect.
  • The linework overall seems to get the job done for most aspects, but it's very easy to spot places where it looks shy and lacking confidence, the lineweight is irregular in many places, for example the feathers on the upper right section of the picture have really thin lines, and some of them don't even connect properly, they don't outline some of the black filling correctly. Also some of the small bones creating like a chain next to the wings have a more bold lineart but they're too wavy, not like the object is not solid but instead made of something more soft and squishy.

Color/shading: Good!

  • The colors you picked seem to blend in together nicely, these hues of magenta/violet look good for a character this type, mystical and different from the typical stuff, correct me if I'm wrong but is this creature a female? I ge the feeling it is, because of the small eyelashes and the overall color.
  • However I think the horns are too intense in comparison to the rest of the picture, maybe consider lowering the brightness of it or switching to a more subtle tone so that it doesn't pop out too much.
  • The shading is sharp and straight to the point, this is good for this setting since there are light sources everywhere, and they're very close to the character, hence the strong colors in the vicinity of the candles and the book.
  • However I think you could've added more details to the fur and the feathers, specially on the back of her body in the upper section of the picture, more traces of hair and less flat colors.

Anatomy: Bad, needs some work

  • First of all, sorry for being so blunt in here, I don't say something is bad unless I have a proper reason for it, and this picture here has some things I just can't shake off.
  • The first thing that stroke me as odd was the overall pose of the character, I think she's leaning forward to read the book on the ground, like her arms/wings are resting on the floor while the rest of the body is curved in a somewhat confortable position to read, all of these conclusions came after inspecting every nook and cranny of the picture, because I just couldn't see it at first, and these are just speculations, I have no idea about the "real" anatomy of this character, I don't know if it has legs or just a tail, I don't know if the arms are wings or just that, arms, the wings on the sides are good though. I don't know what type of limbs does this creature have, and the way this is drawn doesn't tell me anything solid.
  • The face seems a little off-putting, this is probably because of the way the eyes are positioned in relation to the nostrils (The one on the right seems too tall in comparison to the other, the pupils seem to be looking at different places once you look at them closely, and the eyes differ from each other overall), also the overall shape of the face seems more narrow on the right and more round to the left.
  • I believe I notice some mistakes regarding the horns and the ears , the horns are those similar to the ones rams have, like an espiral. I think they should be pointing more to the sides instead of the front, they seem too against the head. The line defining the left horn (our right) above the ear does not, let's say match the position of the rest of the horn below the ear.
  • I assume the tail is on the left, I don't know where it's coming from.
  • Again, sorry for all being this harsh, but when I have trouble figuring what exactly the character's doing at the first glance and actually have to scrutinize the picture in order to get it, then I know I can't give it a good score.

Background: So-so

  • I think you tried to do a simplistic background using the dark enviroment as an advantage, nevertheless you seem to have forgoten to render the ground, I see no shadows being cast in it nor any sort of texture, be it rock or wood. aside from these issues, I see nothing else worth mentioning.

Details:

  • Your design is beautiful, I like dragons and I think yours looks amazing to be honest, the horns and multiple ears along with the extra clutter on the wings and the space surrounding the eyes is very interesting!
  • I like how the book is glowing and illuminating the character the same way as the candles!

Conclusion:
The design is good, the setting too, the theme is good as well. But the anatomy is something that really throws me off this picture, I just can't wrap my head around the body of this character, I don't know what to make of it.
I hope this review can be of use to you, all the flaws I listed can be fixed with a little bit of practice, and I've seen some of your work, this is the only piece of artwork I can't get over the anatomy.

Have a nice day

Hey there, thanks for the critique!  Sorry I haven't been able to respond for a while, I've been busy ;w;.  For the lineart i was trying something new by changing the color based on the lighting around it and I was really proud of how well it turned out.    However, the linework in some places was a bit flat and I'm currently changing up my lineart style a bit to give it more depth and character.  This dragon is indeed female (your assumptions were correct).  As for the horns they were intentionally brighter as to add more contrast and more pop to her overall design.  However I do believe that I should've made the overall image darker to emphasize the glow produced by the candles and runes and to make the colors a bit more stable.  When I was posing her I honestly had no idea what i was thinking and when i drew out her initial pose i just thought, "hey that looks pretty good" and didn't realize how bad the anatomy was until it was too late.   So I guess I was pretty much aware of the weird anatomy, but thanks for pointing it out anyways.  As for the background I intended there to be no ground rendered and just have a flat and simple background like in my other dragon artworks.  But anyways I'm still very proud of this piece and I'm glad you like it as well ^w^
