Strange, isn't it, that the book makes a big deal out of Rochester not being conventionally attractive...yet nearly everyone they've ever cast to play him is a total hottie? (Not that I'm complaining much, mind you...)
When a friend and I saw this version in the theater, and Jane answered "No" to Rochester's "do you think me handsome?", I had to bite my tongue to stop myself from yelling, "Are you effing KIDDING ME?!"

genuinely made me LOL. It is just not his looks but his acting that did it for me. He was so convincing, so much pain and emotion, so much expression in his eyes... Why can't men be so tragic and vulnurable today?

Ouah c'est trop beau, j'ai adoré le film, cette peinture me permet de rester encore un petit peu dans le doux univers tragique romantique dans lequel ce film m'a transporté.
Tout ça pour dire que c'est vraiment super beau, l'ambiance y est parfaitement transposée.
