In my opinion, Switch Axe is one of the most well designed melee weapons I've seen in any game. One thing that got me though is that the designers didn't take advantage of the fact that the Sword Mode could also be an axe form as well.I mean, I know the sword mode is CALLED Sword Mode for a reason, but I've seen things like the Guan Dao for Long Swords where it looks like a Glaive rather than a Katana. It would only be a visual thing, no?
So, anyway, this is some basic design I came up with for a "Double Axe" Switch Axe.
Switch Axe, Monster Hunter, ect. owned by Capcom.

I like this ^_^ As well as the Switch Axe. I agree it is quite awesome, and I totally love the concept.
Nicely drawn. I think that a person could go infinitely deep into the complexity of the machinery that would compose this thing.

Awesome concept! And I agree with you entirely.
As a matter of fact, Jhen's Guan Dao is one of my favorite weapons in Tri as far as design goes, simply because it is what it is. Deviant weapon designs like that should be much more prominent than they are in the series. Makes forging new weapons so much more interesting and fun!

This is pretty awesome.
Axes are my favorite melee weapons in any game. So Switch Axes were right up my alley in Tri. And while I don't particularly mind it changing to a sword in Sword Form, this would be even better!

Personally, I prefer simple looking axes so this is right down my alley.
(I also think that the normal Bone Axe is the best looking one)

Aye, I hate most switch axe designs but I'm fine with the models of Bone Axe, Inceadeus and Demon Bind.

that is a simple yet cool design cant believe a more intricate design like that wasnt used by CAPCOM good job on it
