Description
Read the Japanese way. Right to left.My art teacher used to tell me it was impossible to draw a perfect circle free-hand... But not only can Ed draw a perfect circle, he can draw it with his hands literally tied behind his back! (re: Barry the Chopper episode)
Damned Amestrians and their innate sense of... geometry!
And HEY! Did you know that the Elric brothers are ambidextrous? Although Ed seems to prefer his left hand, especially after he lost his right arm? Watch him when he draws his transmutation circles. He almost always does it with his left hand. And he writes, eats, and shoots a gun with his left hand too. XD He still tends to hold knives and spears with his right though.
Al, however, seems to use both without a real preference.

ambidextrous people can use both brain hemispheres, which means they have more neuronal connections developed... this means they're smarter XD

Um...I can! I can draw a perfect circle free handed! XD One of my teachers back in Jr. High said it was not possible, so me being myself tried, and Ta-da! Haha shut up beyotch!
And yep, I noticed. But both being geniuses, its not that surprising.

Well, knowing their Sensei, she probably made them go a couple of months with their right hands tied behind their backs to have them become more dependent on their left hands. Similar in nature to her lesson where she abandoned them on a deserted island for a month. ^.^ And yes, drawing circles sucks and Ed would not make a good teacher himself-- he'd get too impatient. Al would be a much better choice. Cute mini-comic!

I can draw a perfect circle! I'm serious! It's always been easy for me. If it's not perfect, then it's only a couple degrees off. Psht, it's plenty good enough for drawing pretty boys making out with each other-- I mean, great works of art. >> Mmhmm.
-sporfle- They ARE ambidextrous! I hadn't noticed that before. o.O
Hilarious comic. I love your humor. <3

I noticed that he wrote with his left hand while looking at the manga. I'm glad that Arakawa-sensei made it easy to tell if the people working on the animation flipped the frames. They did that in Sailor Moon, as some fan-site pointed out. For a few seconds, the characterwould be to the right of the driver, then to the driver's left a few seconds later. Why'd they go and do that?!
Anyway, this pic is awesome as well as funny.

Uuuuuugh, the evil that is geometry... I *barely* managed to get through that math class. I could never remember all the various things for the different shapes. Numbers and my memory do *not* mix. ...And yes, geometric circles are eeeevil to draw by hard. I am totally in awe of anyone who can do it. And its not *fair* that Ed can do 'em with his feet!
Very funny comic, tho. *giggles* I feel sorry for nameless, funny-faced dude. That *does* figure, tho. Not only do alchemists have to be scientific minds and stuff, but artists as well. ...And now I have to go back and watch FMA again *just* to watch how Ed usually does everything with his left hand. 'Cause such details normally go flying over my head.

ha! I'd kinda been wondering about those perfect shapes too. The circles at least, once you have that down you could probably do the lines pretty well. And how do they do them so fast? Remember the fight between Ed and Al? Al's chalk was holding its own against Ed's hands!
I'd never noticed the hands they used, but I know I've heard it mentioned before. I'll just have to look out for it from now on.
Great comic ^_^

That's whay my circles look like when I try drawing them with a single line. I figured out that if you give it a slight curve and keep truning the peper, you can make an almost perfect circle.

My art teacher said only insane people can draw a perfect circle freehand. T___T;; Does this make people who know all that geometry insane?
... >__>; XDD Haha.
O.O And I never really noticed that! I mean, I would figure that Ed would rather use his left arm more often now for more "precise" things, but I never really gave much though to it. @.@ Random little facts like that SPARK my mind XD I also found out recently that Link is left handed! O__O;; I never really played the Zelda games myself (I am an observer when it comes to games mostly, including cool ones @_@ ) so that's probably why I didn't notice until it was pointed out to me. x_x;; ehehehe.
>.> The guy that is learning alchemy's "face"... just AMUSES me so much. XDD

Heheh. I was too lazy to try and draw a serious face on the guy.
Yes! Link is a lefty. I think that trend started mostly with the N64 games... or at least, I think I remember briefly playing the SNES games and noting that he was right-handed. In any case, the Link in the 64, Windwaker, and Twilight Princess games are all left-handed.
Someone else mentioned Sephiroth being left-handed too, but off-hand (*cough*), I can't think of any other animated left-handed characters except for one of the kids in The Magic School Bus that I've long forgotten the name of.
