first real digital painting since quite a while...Shows, Grips the little messenger gryphon (the same Grips as sitting on Evell's shoulder here: [link] )
all painted in Photoshop based on a rough sketch, background was created using the 'Craquelure' filter, which turned out acceptable

I can't tell how much I love the lightning on this one.
The 'Craquelure' certainly produces noticeable effect on the wall. Maybe I'll try it out too, if the opportunity ever presents itself.

I would also love to have a little guy like him for bringing messages or just to sit on my shoulder and look cute 
and I really enjoy light situations like that (and sunsets... XD) hard shadows and light edges *yay*
that craquelure effect is really useful if you want to make a painterly looking rock more "sharp" or just looking rougher and not too smooth

I'm still pretty bad on different lightning conditions myself, but practice certainly makes one better at it. *Yeaa* I also love the hard shadows & light edges a lot myself and am fast getting better at them.

Amazing shading, I love the atmosphere and the heartwarming sincere look Grips is giving the camera. I think people who are able to light and shade fur as good as you can are amazing.. I have no idea how you do that!
