The hair looks great too, with that single ponytail (No pun intended there, friend!) reaching out.
The 'taur looks neat too, with some impresive anatomy. 
The background is equally nice, if little barren, but I think it's part of the envinronment they're in now?

I know that this is a commissioned piece, but I do think that the horsetaur 's rear left hoof looks a bit funny; like the hoof is twisted a little bit to far

They really are neat and the highlight is really nice.
I just started drawing horses a week ago. I find that their anatomy is a bit more difficult than I had originally thought. I would love to be able to draw taurs.

"What did you do today?" "Oh nothing out of the ordnary, i just saw a real sentient horsetaur carrying equallty sentient LionDragon hybrid, whom was obviously chillling, in the middle of desert. Along with totally normal grass. Oh the LionDragon had a long decorated nip of hair."

I used Photoshop CS2 for all digital parts (it's based on a rough traditional sketch)
I can't really tell how long it took me as I didn't work on it in one session
