Got inspired by someone else who had completed a quick portrait using just four colours - red, blue, yellow, white. Tried the same myself today... it's nice to be painting from life. not sure if it really looks like me...the nose looks a bit dodgey but then again I have a weird nose.Related content

yeah - there's still quite a bit I need to change. I was just happy to see what I could accomplish in 4 hours so I am going to alter and add to it again at some point. One of the eyes is a bit wonky too and the hair looks too flat so I might add more highlights to that. But actually I do have a big nose - hee hee

p.s. The nose is really well drawn but it's far too big. Remember what I said about making sure the drawing is perfect before painting it...then you wont have all the pain of having to change it once it's done.

I know I should've taken time over the drawing... I just wanted to do a painting that was finished in a day..so I totally rushed the drawing part(compared to normal) wasn't really caring much if it looked like me or not. Still got things on it I'd like to fix.

Wow this is a big step on Lizzie...LOVE the colours, so beautiful reminds me of Gauguins portraits, especially the one of Van Gogh.
Jeez, always said to you you are SO talented!
Take them outside to photograph them and you won't get that shine on.

Thanks Lizzie...it's a shame because it's such an acomplished painting...you show real talent as a colourist..the colours "sing together" as one of my old lecturers used to say
