This is very reminescant to Gath Nix's novels, beginning with a necromancer named Sabriel whom banishes dead souls back to their realms in death using a bandolier of different sized bells... Have you read that story? Well, in any case, I especially like the sketches skulls in the background, they really tie the elements together. the white background and bright colours are balanced, but it might have more of a "dangerously evil" appeal if you played around with different tones in that skull+white background. All in all, only a serving suggestion!

I love the tree effect. Mostly I think of trees as nurturing. This is very original and cool. I suppose she's his/its priestess or something? It's a diety, I suppose...or deserves to be one. Those skulls must have taken a very long time to do. Nevertheless they are completely magnificent.

I love the skulls and the feel of the piece. Her almost blank stare works rather well. I really like her nose (for some odd reason) but I am in love with the skulls. The hands look a bit rough when you compare it to the blend on her face but minor detail. It's gorgeous.

I just think the eyes could be a bit more dramatic with more color depth.
And, looking at it again, the arms look a little under-blended compared to her face. (Since you asked for advanced critique.)
