Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations. Gene Roddenberry originated the IDIC philosophy as a Vulcan belief: "Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations represents a Vulcan belief that beauty, growth, progress -- all result from the union of the unlike. Concord, as much as discord, requires the presence of at least two different notes."

What connection exists between empowerment and IDIC? By accepting and celebrating our differences, we enable each person to accomplish something special. To become more powerful or prosperous. To be accepted for who we are without being harshly judged due to prejudice and unfavorable bias. To find within ourselves inner peace with who we are, as we are created. That each of us are beautiful in our own way. To seek and find validation that many so richly need.

With this, we can eliminate many of the artificial barriers that not only divides us, but keeps those who currently find themselves marginalized in society from attaining equity in all things.
