the irony is he ws going for my leg hence the hunch and I was re-ajusting my stance to counter the take down, moving my hand ready to pull him over into a lock or something (I did a lot of fights that day I don't remember) it was just a really well timed photo so it looks like I'm about to smack himn one right in the head LOL
I'm hoping the put some photos of kicks up soon because they are fairly entertaining XD

You English is very good, that's quite cool I though about doing kung fu but the only style here is wing chun it's a bit more static than the other styles. I'd love to do shaolin style as I think it's amazing!!

I thought about taking up tae kwon do as I do like my kicks but all the local clubs to me are filled with giants and I'm quite not exactly tall XD

OO! Really cool.
We just had a belt test in my martial arts club. We do Kempo Karate and Jiu Jitsu.

ours are strange in the sense of you don't really get a new belt, our dojo doesn't really believe in it so you have white and black at either end of the skill spectrum then tis just red for ladies green for men, except the blue belt wich isn't a grade any grade can have it, tis more a sign of respect as that person does a lot for the dojo or for promoting the art and that kind of thing.
Jiu jitsu has some simularites to the kind of stuff we do, did you take part in the belt test?? if so how did you do??

Ah, cool. Learn something new everyday.
Yeah, I tested. We haven't gotten official results, but they gave us some feedback after. One of the senseis told me that I passed, which means I am now a third kyu red belt. We go through ten ranks before we get to black belt, counting backwards, so that means I'm pretty close.
Thing is, it's a club through my college. I don't think I'm going to get to black before I graduate. I'm going to have to find a dojo while I'm in veterinary school.
I like Jiu jitsu a lot better than kempo, though it's good to kind of learn both. I'm not a fan of hitting, which is my problem with kempo. I'm much more comfortable and a lot better at throwing them and putting them in a lock.
What got you into Ninjutsu?

congrats, that's the same ranking we use just sans the belts. Would another dojo consider your current grade or would you have to start again??
I feel quite comfatable hitting, throwing and locking, but what I don't like is ground fighting. I just don't feel comfatable with it... plus I don't weigh a lot, most of the people at my dojo weigh at least 2 of me so that is an instant disadvantage LOL
I got into Ninjustsu as my mum knew the wife of the guy that runs it, so I went down there as a kid, after I was thrown out of my karate club and loved it, it's an art that you truely make your own style as you adapt the tecnique to how your body works unlike most arts wher tis the other way around, plus I liked the atmospher of the dojo.
What about you what got you into your arts??

I used to go to a dojo that did ninjutsu I think. I was kind of too young to remember the form. But then when I got to college, I learned about the club the first week there and joined. Been doing it ever since. Dr. Murphey, one of the senseis, is a professor at the school. He's great. Josh is another one of our teachers, and he can be very funny and very scary at times. He used to be in the marines. My friends and I are all in the club together, and we live in a house on campus, so we have fights in our house all most all the time. It's fun.
I'm actually really good at ground fighting for the most part. I only get in trouble when I fight Josh. He's probably one of the few people bigger than me in the group. I'm about the same size or bigger than everyone. Though thanks to ground fighting with him, I've learned a few dirty tricks that not all the new kids appreciate. One of our 8th kyu boys has a good strength weight advantage over me. I went for pressure points and all that, freaked him out and I won.
It's a big confidence boost for me. And when I'm stressed from my many biology classes, it's great to pretend the bags when we do bag work are my professors.
If I have to restart from the beginning, I will. It's more about doing it than the ranks for me, though the ranks give me a goal to work towards.

In ninjutsu pressure points and cheating are activly incouraged!! that's just ninja's for ya XD
yes punchbags are awesome when someone has annoyed you!!
I know what you mean about the ranks though, hence why I guess I'm quite a low grade for the time I've been doing it, but now now I kind of have to work through the grades to learn new stuff as sylibus work is essentail but soo boring if you end up doing the same thing years in a row!! LOL

The pressure points are something I remember from the form I used to take.
In the club, we test once a semester. If the sensei feels like I'm ready for it, I try to test. One time he even encouraged me to test for 5th kyu when I was seventh kyu, skipping over sixth. Mostly because the only difference in testing was knowing one more kata. I just wish he hadn't taught it to me a week before testing, lol.
It's such a huge confidence boost for me. I'm usually really timid and shy. Really bad at talking to people I respect, especially if it's to ask for help. Martial arts has definately been breaking me of that habit.
