Description
I've been in the mood to make pony vectors lately so I decided to make more, this is my third MLP vector and in my opinion, my best. I decided to do Lyra this time because she is my favorite background pony, yes I like her more than Derpy. Next time I'll be vectoring my favorite from the CMC. I got the Cutie Mark Vector here: fav.me/d4wksvj . (c) Hasbro.SVG file: sta.sh/018lx11tkq9g
Edit: Fixed the errors that Lahirien mentioned in the comment section.

I'm not sure what you are trying to imply, are you saying that it's old because that it came from an old episode? If so then that's because this is her from season 1 or are you saying it's old because it doesn't look that good? If so then it's because this was made beforeΒ Lahirien Β gave me advice to fix it and I'm still planning to fix this eventually. Anyway, thanks for commenting.

I'm not sure why you think that. I followed her size in the picture. Thanks for commenting.

She looks great, except for her head. It just looks a little thinner than it should be.

I checked if I made a mistake but it looks exactly like the picture, I based off for this vector but I see what you mean.

So I reviewed this vector for you. Refer to this sta.sh/0qqilgizwbl
1. Your most obvious problem is that you're not tapering the ends of your strokes like you're supposed to. In Inkscape, you'll want to use a tool called power strokes. See the second half of this fav.me/d6xcr4i tutorial, or this fav.me/d5pxkbe . Very few endpoints are left untapered on ponies, so you should generally apply it whenever an endpoint is visible.
2. In addition to tapering, the ear should have its own fill and completely cover all mane strokes. The endpoints of the ears should meet the lower edges of the relevant mane strokes, so that it looks like the mane is closely tucked behind the ear.
3. Miter joins. You need to increase your miter limit. The program will usually start with a small one, which results in corners being cut off like this. Increase it to something big like 400, and just manually try to avoid miters getting too huge (they do when the angle at the corner is too small.) See the first half of this fav.me/d6xcr4i tutorial.
4. The tips of pony ears should be rounded, not pointy. The only exceptions I can think of are Luna, Soarin, and Mrs. Cake.
5. Make sure that your hock is not a point. The appearance of the hock varies with angle. See this fav.me/d5z9t38 .
6. Make sure that your fill path is not stroked, and make sure that no fill pokes out past the outline.
7. The eyes are the most complicated. You'll need to learn how to use clipping groups and the ellipse tool. See fav.me/d5orja6
Overall, you're getting there! Review the general tutorials mlp-vectorclub.deviantart.com/β¦ and Inkscape tutorials mlp-vectorclub.deviantart.com/β¦ again, and keep practicing!

I will do my best to fix this. About the ear, based on the picture , her ear was pointy and I looked at others and her ear was pointy there also. I also already had the ear have it's own fill. I greatly appreciate your help and I will apply the things you told me to do.
