All the working on G3 and now this?
Well...moving Mini-Me to the latest model-generation is something I was planning to do for a while already,
and while trying out some G8 features I just gave it a quick trial, based on MrJx' set-up for the latest version of Mini-me.
It's not done yet, while I am surprised how close that really quick sketch already comes,
and I just love the great facial features of the Generation 8 characters!
MrJx is on the road today (yeah, out there, where the Zombies are!

I was (still am) waiting for very long to have a closer look at G8 and always thought it wouldn't really be worth the effort.
Though particularly their facial features and their overall more mature look convinced me in the end.
Problem is that a lot of morphs that I have for G3 (and that I and Mr Jx used for Mini-Me) are not available for G8,...so I have to think about alternative ways.
Right now I am working on a complete new build from scratch.
It's better already...but still not where I want it to be

Mir fehlen noch ein paar Morphs, die es zwar für G3, aber nicht für G8 gibt....

Ach ja, durch den quasi vollständigen Mangel an Sozialkontakten bin ich auch etwas launischer und zocke viel mehr als mich um DAZ und dA zu kümmern.
Irgendwie auch etwas inspirationslos...die besten Ideen hatte ich meist im Fitnessstudio weil ich das so langweilig fand.
Dein Projekt klingt echt nach einer Beschäftigungstherapie und was kommt als nächstes? Du importierst den Charakter in z-Brush und erstellst deine eigenen Morphs?

Isn’t there a method to transfer features from G3 to G8?

Well... although it definitely needs improvement (example, as you've noticed, her hands are too big)... as a draft, it is very and very good... and looks very lively and realistic.
Yes... and I fully agree that the main reason why it is worth switching to the Genesis 8 is really rich facial expressions.

I actually wanted to quit my trials, because I couldn't get the face right.
Some morphs I have for G3 are not available for G8.
Though, in the course of a commission I yet came back to her...
and I am happy I did.

The face is not yet fully done.
Though, like I just said to him, the face wont be the same as before, as Mini-Me is getting older with us
I found out that G8 allows me to feature this without that Mini-Me looks like a freak after the process
And yes, I think the move is worth it

Yep...there's something extra special about G8 that I only noticed when I gave this update a try.
And it's in deed in the face mostly

Looks very good, but in my opinion the face needs some work. I am obviously comparing to the Mini-you I am familiar with and used to.

Good thing is, with the G8 features I can age her without her looking like a 2000 year old mummy

I realize that Mini-you had a lot of adventures, but it is only about three years that you have created her. So, there shouldn't be that many differences in appearance.

"Mini-Me" is a lot older than only three years
That was only when I started to call her like that (and I think I got the inspiration for that name from myturncoat , who used it in some of his pictures....If I am remembering right).
There were other "alter egos" before, on of them you can still find in the "Stoffelchen"-Folder in my gallery.
The point is, that all of them were of my age when I created them, and they stayed there, in their late 20ies.
I'm 40 years old now and I thought it was about time to reflect that in my artsy representative

I like the Eternity image from that folder a lot. Goes without saying, I am now most curious how the final version of GF8 Mini-you will look. Last but not least, here comes # 5, which will not be thought-provoking, intense, mystical, etc. like the previous ## were. It is quite simple: when you are ready (i.e. GF8 Mini-you is close to final version), create a single scene (and narrative, if you prefer to add one) with as many Mini-you as you still have/can find in your library/can include in a scene (but at least with the current version and new GF8 version), and make it light and fun. Other characters (for example Mr. Jx., who without doubt will enjoy numerous instances and versions of Mini-you) are at your discretion.
