Description
Date: 28th November 1962NWR No.3 ‘Henry’ with temporary wooden shield charges through the evening fog with a train of both supplies and troops towards Edinburgh where a platoon of ‘British’ Communists had taken over.
The locomotive was assigned to a division of locomotives responsible for such missions early on in the war and is widely thought to be the first NWR engine to operate after the 48 hour period.
Today he is preserved at the Great Central Railway.
