Yeah...that's actually all I used to do when I started doing cg art. I mean, I like the line quality, but miss the paper texture. So, I scan my lineart most of the time now, plus it allows me to start on pieces when I'm away from my laptop/PC . It does take some getting used to but, I found that doing shorter, quick strokes really help as far as getting better line quality. Also, if you're using a program like Photoshop, you do have to work at a really high resolution in order to minialize "shakey line syndrome". I don't particular like doing that, especially if I'm just making works that are primarily going to be viewed online, but it works out for making print-quality works. Painter, on the other hand, actually has a correction algorithm within it, so you can do smaller res works without as many mistakes showing up. When I was doing my daily pics a few years ago, Painter was usually actually the program I used to draw my lineart.

(Word of warning, though: Painter's interface SUCKS for doing decent sized/high-res pics. I do not recommend it AT ALL for doing print-quality work. Photoshop all the way! )

lol you are totally right. I hate doing line art. This girl artist says it's theraputic but I find myself going through a downward spiral toward descending MADNESS! lol I hate line art. Haha, I dunno how to get used to it yet. And yes, I know what you mean on making good strokes on Painter. Like, it's easy to not make mistakes. (I use Cover Pencil) but I still find it hard for some reason... I just can't pinpoint my problem.

lol I just lost my photoshop trial version which sucks. Haha, I miss the line art work because you're right. It does deftly handles high-res pic line art.

lol I looked at all of 'em. I know. It's very nice. X3 You have so much potential. I recommend seeing a teacher or at least learning the fundamentals so that you will be more satisfied with a picture because you know you didn't make any wrongs because you studied fundamentals. I know body props and anatomy of females only which is sad. I need to draw men more X3
