Description
So i've been getting really self conscious about my coloring style for a while... and if it was appealing or something ;;; Therefore i wanted to try emulating different coloring styles from different artists that i happened to come by.It was really fun! But it was really hard too because it's so hard to tell what the artist is thinking and how they shade a certain way when you're just looking at the end product of their work Two of the coloring methods are my own though, without using a direct influence.
i apologize to the artists (if they can recognize it lol) for using and butchering their coloring style hahah o<-<
At the moment i'm not sure what i'm going to try, but i always feel weird for being so inconsistent;; I would really like to try and come up with my own, comfortable yet appealing coloring style that i can stick with.
Medium: Adobe photoshop CS5, Wacom Intuos4 tablet

This sheet is very interesting... owΓΆ
I like to see that even though the picture is the same, the colors give each an individual look.

The one on the bottom left looks the best to me, because it's the one that makes him look more angular and otherworldly.

I personally prefer it when you shade the faces a bit more, they end up looking "flat" to me otherwise... ;;;
Have to say though, my fav is probably the bottom middle. Gorgeous work on the hair. o/

Ahh yeahhh that's true ;7; That's probably my biggest problem with the 5th one-- the flat coloring doesn't suit my style i think.
Thanks Sprite! The hair was fun to do in that style~

Hahah the 1st one is my most basic shading method! I'm happy you like that one haha

LOL. I think it works. I sometimes am not a fan of the overworked shading. I think it can work for some styles, but I think for the head you've drawn- the simple shading works very well.
