Here are my personifications of the counties of Connaught! Which one are you from/ do you like the most?top and bottom, left to right
Leitrim
County Leitrim has the smallest population as well as the most sparsely populated county of the Ireland, so he's quite small.
Lough Allen makes him very good at fishing and water-sports.
Mayo
County Mayo has the highest cliffs and mountain point in Ireland as well as the largest islands off it's coast but he's also one of the more empty counties. This makes him the tallest and scrawniest of the counties
Mayo is home to the most spiritual mountain and Marian Shrine so he's quite religious and fanatically worships St. Patrick!
Sligo
County Sligo is known for its inordinate number of monastic sites as well as it's brilliant conditions for surfing. Also has a deep love for traditional Irish music.
The result? A surfing monk
Galway
County Galway is barren, stark, rugged and mountainous. Due to the University of Galway and (obviously) large student population it's also got a rather... hippy reputation. Like Sligo, it is known for being the ideal area for sailing and other water-sports
This makes my Galway a very good hiking hippy sailor.
Roscommon
County Roscommon is known for it's beautiful scenery and not much else. It tends to be forgotten by the rest of Ireland as nothing violent happened here and doesn't have any sites that make it stand out over the rest of the counties. But a lot of the original settings of many Irish myths was Roscommon. So my Roscommon is dressed like a traditional Celtic princess.
Also very proud of the Irish language because someone from County Roscommon was key in making Irish an official EU language.
