Description
Finished the head.I'll have to keep in mind how much the fur equalizes everything, I always seem to forget that. But it worked out just fine here.

What did you put on top of the foam? Was that just to make the fur pattern, or for support of the whole thing a little bit better?

Masking tape- it's used to get a perfect sewing pattern for the fur and then discarded. There isn't any tape on the finished head.

How do you take the masking tape off of the head?????

An xacto knife and a gentle hand would be my guess

Ah! masking tape sounds much easier to remove from foam than duct tape. A lot of my foam came off my second head when I tried it with duct tape...

if it has elastics, would it?

Not sure what you're asking. It couldn't be retrofitted to have a moving jaw, that's something that would have to be incorporated into the foaming at a very early stage.

what i meant is that if you were to put elastics..would it be a moving jaw?

I really don't know much about moving jaws, they don't interest me.

Are the eyes made from white buckram?
If so, how well can you see out of them?

Thank you for this picture - it's very interesting to see how much the shape of the head changes after furring.

Wow! This is fantastic!! Very symmetrical and oh so CUTE!! The eyes are just adorable too, perfect color for this character.
Did you sew in the fur?

LobitoWorks In reply to Firestar24 [2012-03-14 23:17:36 +0000 UTC]
Yes, all the seams are machine sewn except where the ears meet the head fur, and the center back seam (that is hand-sewn).
Thanks! ^^

Machine sewn? I didn't know that was possible. I was always told u need to hand sew it all. Do you have a stronger sewing machine?

Hm? Any halfway decent machine will sew faux fur. Some are better than others, of course.

Hm, alright. I didn't know that. I started my suit back in.... October? It's still in the foaming stage... productions at a stand still....
