Oh! Thank you for the welcome! I have been in the wilderness with no internet or phone service. Now, I am back, and working to reunite with my group and my other DA friends. Thank you for being there!

Beautiful and high profesional scenography like in classic stages of XIX -XX century literature
Thank you for the photo with my Conducting teacher
He was a fantastic artist , musician , also with the highest degrees in Mathematics and Philosophy in Berlin university .
he was the best student of the famous Furtwengler and after he became Conducter of Berliner Symphony Philharmonic
He gave me much for conducting knowledges and for understand the music
There I was after a lesson with him .

Very good. I can see that interest in architecture and design. I like the lighting too.

Now that...is an AWESOME set!  Love how you made a room behind the entrance on the left to give the set more depth!  Brilliant idea.

Thank you so much!!  I'm looking for free-lance work!!!! (hint hint)   Anyway, I love creating box sets.   I don't often get to do them. All to often it is suggested realism or expressionism.

You're welcome and I'll see if I can't come up with some ideas for you to get your 'freelance' work

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Beautiful , very very beautiful . It is fantastic to find some time even a classical way to see the theatre scenes .
I believe that was a great success .
Now , in many opera - houses , under different directors and costumes designers , many scenes or characters
appears like in contemporary life , even on the stage is "Trovatore " by Verdi or "Lucia di Lammermoor " by Donizzetti .
Why ?  perhaps for too expensive outlay ?

LocationCreator In reply to OLIVER-YOUNG [2015-11-22 16:11:10 +0000 UTC]

yes. architectural scenery is expensive, but I believe it is the fashion designers to make a visual statement so they seem important. Beautiful interiors can be designed with the opera in mind, yet seem perfectly aligned with architectural history. The subliminal colors and sizes of the doorways and so on, may not be exactly from a real bit of architecture, but seem real enough to satisfy, yet subtly underscore the mood and texture of the music... Good designers do this, and not create the meaningless flashy settings...

Wonderful!!! How are you doing the destruction of the room at the end?

We set up some air compressors and hit a button to bring some of it crashing down. Others, such as the books on the bookshelves, have a little tab in the back that you pull and they come crashing to the floor. Along with sugar glass too.

Air compressors! What a great idea. Do you have backstage pictures of this going on?  We know that is where the real work is...

Awesome... I'll post our fog machine in place... nothing too fancy there, but is makes a great effect.

theatre-geek13 In reply to LocationCreator [2015-11-22 16:57:33 +0000 UTC]

Yeah! We had a used fog machine, but unfortunately one of the actors wasn't paying attention and tripped over it causing it to break.

Ach! too bad about the broken machine.  We dropped the ceiling in our show by using two "snow cradles" which we called debris cradles. We filled the cradles with Rosco Crystal Gel and sawdust-covered broken pieces of Dow Blue Board foam, and it really looked like the ceiling was caving in.  I could not capture that on film...slow shutter speed. I just posted the fog machine sitting in all of its glory backstage...  :thumb573814575:
