Description This is what I use when I map all the player and mob textures onto the models.
It's a workaround, since SketchUp lacks proper UV functionality.

It also includes some pre-made skins, and some swappable skins that you can replace with your own, without having to re-map them

Download and open the .skp model in SketchUp 8 or higher
Some textures from Minecraft - trademark of Mojang AB
Modeled in SketchUp (obviously)

Can you put the pre-made skins in a zip file? I use Blender.

The sad thing about dA is that many people rarely use the sidebar...
(it's near the top in the sidebar)

while the subject isn't my bag, I must applaud the amount of work you've put into this and thought towards making this as easy as possible to customize and replicate the models.  Very well done indeed good sir.

OH MY GOODNESS I DIDN'T REALIZE THAT YOU COULD SWAP TEXTURES THIS MAKES MY LIFE SO MUCH EASIER!!! That explains so much.... Thanks for including that little bit in the picture, now that I know how to do that my life is so much easier!

LockRikard In reply to InvaderHawk [2014-03-14 19:30:53 +0000 UTC]

Whoa, hold on with the happy just yet, you still can't simply duplicate models and make separate UVs for them. If you need more than two swap-able skins, you'll have to map them yourself (or swap on the pre-made skins (altough some of them don't have the hat layer))

InvaderHawk In reply to LockRikard [2014-03-15 17:14:19 +0000 UTC]

No no, but I made a new texture for something and I thought that I was going to have to put it back up against the wall and do all of that stuff again! But now I know that I don't! Quick question though, How do you make the hat part of the model?

LockRikard In reply to InvaderHawk [2014-03-15 17:40:47 +0000 UTC]

Exactly the same as the head, just on the right 8x8 cube in the template, and afterwards place it over/in the head (so it clips exactly), and resize it to 1,13 (and holding Ctrl so it rezies from the center), then selecting both the head and the hat, and grouping them

Thanks again!
Also I'm trying to make my Steve's kill thing work with Novaskin wallpapers but when I render the image it's not all green like the example image this is what it turns out like: sta.sh/01lsomomgnel

Oh, and you access the libraries in the Material Browser that is in the right pane in Kerky, click Library Selection and then the library you want, and the materials come up as thumbnails.

When you have a model selected in Kerkythea, double click a material to apply it.
Oh, and you should use the swap-able 1 and 2 skins for the first library!

How convenient that I've made a material library for Kerkythea for just this purpose

The HD library works for the swap-able skins in 1.8 format, in the playermaker
Install them in Kerkythea with File -> Install Library... (might need administrator privileges, as it places them in kerky's install folder)

If this looks ok, (not counting the not-posedness of it, that is) then feel free to ignore my other comment. So is this how it should be rendered? -->sta.sh/028vzaekwngy
