Description I added some water in the nether (With the /give command) and suddenly some squids popped up!

You need either INVedit or a program like that

Creepers/other mobs would also spawn if you put rock/dirt and put it in a dark area. Try that. the result could be instant...

This is probably because that water is the only water in the whole place, forcing the squid to spawn there
