So I've been quiet on dA for a while and I'll give you one guess what I found over a year ago and is what has eaten most of my attention lol. I was lucky enough to get a ticket to Minecon this year and had an absolute BLAST! I was also lucky enough to be able to attend the Mindcrack Meet-up and meet, and talk with some of my favorite YouTube personalities (if only for a little bit). I wanted to make heads for each of the Mindcrackers but unfortunately by the time they were able to get a definite list of who was going, my time was too limited and so I decided to do my 6 favorite ones. You may recognize them and from left to right, top to bottom they are: Guude, PauseUnpause, Generikb, Kurtjmac, VintageBeef, and BdoubleO.

Each head takes about a day to complete from start to finish. Colour selection took the longest for each head and in the end the limitations of the paper colour options didn't allow me to do an exact copy like I wanted. Each folded piece of paper started a 2.5cm square. The frames themselves are actually bought from a dollar store and started off as those cheesy fake framed Chinese characters until I tore them apart and reassembled them. Once assembled, the heads themselves are covered in 4 layers of spray lacquer to reinforce them and hot-glued into place.

I did give each of the heads to their proper owner (that's rather morbid sounding) and each of them loved the idea and gift. As wonderful as their thanks is, the real reward for me was the look of astonishment on their faces when I informed them that the heads were origami and not paper craft. My greatest enjoyment with origami is look on people's faces when they realize something so common and rather singular in its uses can be made and shaped into beautiful and objects.
