Hey, it's been a long time. I just survived the worst term of my undergrad yet. Now I'm back to being fully active (at least for 2 weeks). That water is amazing! It's disproportionately good compared to everything. Dead serious, the water is as good as the top artists that dominate the rankings on pixiv. It's the first thing that I noticed right away. How did you do it??? I've been struggling to do decent water since the beginning of time. Your colouring is starting to get really clean and professional looking too. Your recent stuff is really good in general and I'm really looking forward to future stuff from you. Meanwhile, I've been stuck at the same level of quality for 8 drawings straight now and slaving away doing commissions since I'm dead broke.Β Β Β I think you're in the middle of a big improvement spike.

Hehe..Yes. Glad to see you again!
Actually, water was the one of the simplest parts. For the background of the water I used few colors with large airbrush.. For the main texture I used the "cracks brush" on whole screen, then applied that brush again with erase mode, then applied perspective transformation to the layer to match horizon and the scene's perspective.. Viola.. It's done.
Regarding your drawings, it has awesome quality.. Only IMO you stuck on the thicc things But it's ok ) Looking forward to your art too!

I didn't know it was that simple to make gorgeous water. D:
I did one thicc drawing for fun and since then I've been flooded with an infinite supply of thicc comissions haha. You'll never believe the junk people want me to draw. I was dead on cash, so I just took whatever damaged my dignity the least anyways (totally not proud of it lol). I bought a surface pro (set me back over 1000) and I was living off of granola, ramen and raw veggies to compensate for a while... not a good idea. Once I'm done all my commissions, it totals up to 8 in a row without doing any personal drawings. I'm getting pretty sicc of thicc man.Β My money reserve's back to normal once it's all done though, so I can finally go back to just drawing cute lolis which I've wanted to do for months now.Β Β

Ah I see.. Haha.. That people are usually asking for junk.. Had few notes to draw horrible things too... Because of that I just closed any requests/commissions.. Anyway I never considered art as the source of income, because I too slow in painting, and to get the same $15 I need to spend at least 8 hours instead of just one. So I just drawing for fun and usually satisfied with it..
Surface pro is an expensive product... Had no chance to try it and IDK if it worth to buy it.. I hope you will recover your cash soon and will be able to draw anything you want.

You're a much better person than me haha. I take on whatever I can tolerate and charge a "lewd" premium.Β Β On average, I'll get about 50 out of it. For the usual stuff I get about 30, 15 is too cheap. It's the only source of cash I can handle while juggling my studies so it works quite well. I've already paid off almost the entire surface through crappy food and commission money.
The pen response on the surface is not as good as a proper pen display. There's some jittering when drawing diagonal lines really slowly, but it can be solved by using stabilizer and drawing at a normal speed. The minimum pressure response also isn't as good so it's harder to get nice fine tips at the start of lines. Having a pen display on the go pretty much makes up for any of the faults, but my Huion GT-185 beats it any day.

It's fair to variate price for different levels of "lewdness"
I see.. It's probably because of limitation of mobile system. It usually has lower characteristics than desktop.
What can you say about your Huion GT-185 when comparing to usual graphic tablet (without display)? I strongly thinking about buying one, but not sure if it worth it. It's expensive toy

I transitioned from a Wacom Bamboo tablet to the GT-185. The pen response was really similar between the two and the transition was seamless. The only thing I had to initially adjust to was having my hand covering what I was drawing and getting used to a glassy screen (there's no friction like with a tablet). About 4 months after switching to it, I dramatically improved and started hitting pixiv rankings almost every single drawing. Something about drawing on the screen itself feels so much more natural.
When you get a pen display, make sure to check that it has an IPS display otherwise the colours will get all distorted if you don't look at it straight on. The GT-185 to my knowledge is the cheapest IPS pen display (at least at the moment I bought it).
Compared to the end game Wacom Cintiq, you're only missing out on a textured screen and pen angle detection, but it's half the price of the cheapest Cintiq and way bigger.

Really beautiful! Love these two contrasting characters with their blue and red swimwear. The whole tropical background is perfect! Wishing I was there.
Hmm, a long gap does show great improvements.

Didn't your maid drawing take longer? xD
35 hours may sound a lot, but if it was me doing something at this level, it would take me much longer.
