Description
Yet another of my all time favorites. You might notice that I make knives out of practically anything metal. On a more serious note, this knife is more of a letter opener. Not very big at all around 3 inches over all. Cute though.

how did you do the blade??? did you just hammer the long end of the hex key until you reached the desired thickness or what??? a very stylish knife, i am thinking about making one like this out of a massive 12" hex key

Yes, I just beat them out with a hammer and profile it to the desired look.

Not stainless, for sure. To be sure what it is, you would have to either call the manufacturer and find out, know the company that makes it and what they use for those, or hope it's stamped into the metal of the allen wrench some where. I personally don't worry about it, because I only make them for letter openers and not for field knives, because I use small ones in the first place, so it would be a bit uncomfortable to me and I don't really enjoy making them very much. So I just buy a whole lot of them from where ever at the cheapest price I can and make them into small letter openers. Since most letter openers don't have a cutting edge and most are made from brass or something like that, it works out well for me. So I don't have to go through all that trouble.

That would be awesome. If they are that big then they are probably made out of a good type of tool steel, unless it's like a cheap company, then it might be just scrap stuff.

You could probably manage to do it with a propane torch. It would take longer, but you could pull it off.
