Description
So... this was my first attempt at speed-painting.Truth is, it wasn't overly speedy. Don't get me wrong, I went from nothing to colored and shaded piece in about 3 hours. That's crazy fast for me. It was kinda weird starting off with no sketch, but then I didn't have the hours of sketching either.
Now, I know it has some problem areas, but there are some areas I'm really happy with. The hand with cigarette holder came out really well (compared to what I was expecting), for instance. I was also really pleased with how the hair came out.
Over all, I'm happy with my first "Speed Painting" experiment... maybe next one will actually be speedy!

Not bad, Jer! Good job defining the forms and placing your lighting. The hair, especially, looks very nice. My only real crit is that it probably could have used one more layer of deeper shadows to better define a couple areas in the darkest creases.

I would have... but it was a speed painting and I'd already spent 3 something hours on it. I think the next one I do I'm going to set a timer.
But yeah, I loved the hair! ^_^
